Internet Celebrity Poker Player Avoid Prosecution
Dan Bilzerian and his friend Jeremy Guymon, both residents of Las Vegas, created a sensation in internet circles and social networking sites when they did not appear for a scheduled hearing before Justice of Peace Joseph Sciscento to avoid felony charges. According to the lawyer, David Chesnoff, his client Dan Bilzerian will record a public announcement to resolve the criminal case filed against him for wilful detonation of home-made explosives under a tractor-trailer in an unofficial shooting area outside the city of Las Vegas. As the act set off a small wildfire, both could be charged with felony which can result in a prison sentence of 12 years along with fine of $10,000.

Both men had placed nearly 90 pounds of powered explosives in a beverage case under an old tractor trailer cab and had shot it with 20 mm rifle to create a explosion on federal land which scattered truck parts over 300 yards south of Las Vegas. Dan Bilzerian had boasted about this act on Instagram which alerted police to his whereabouts and both men were arrested from the airport. A case of misdemeanor and felony was filed against Dan Bilzerian and friend Jeremy Guymon for the explosion done on 4th November 2014 which caused a wildfire as the failed to distinguish the fire on time.
The District Attorney David Stanton stated that it would be unnecessary to prosecute the men as they both were contrite and were willing to do public service to atone for their misdemeanor. The lawyers of both, David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld submitted no-contest pleas for the charges and have paid restitution fees of $20000 for damages.
